Increasingly, chloramine is being used in municipal water supplies in lieu of chlorine. Just as with chlorine, chloramine is effective at treating the water at the treatment plant. However once that water enters your home, the chemical is no longer needed. Due to the nature of the chloramine, a typical dechlorinator is not effective at removing it.
